As some of you know: when I’m not making Minecraft Mods, I like to make games. I’ve been working on one of these games, Redirection, for the past 3 years, and I can announce today that it will finally be releasing on Steam on October 24th, 2016. Minecraft building program’m super excited to bring this new version of Redirection to Steam and finally share my last 3 years of hard work with all of you. Robots that you unlock while playing the main game, and create your own using Lua! Some of you may have noticed me talking on Twitter about something called CraftOS 2. Anyway, I can’t wait for you all to play this game I’ve poured so much love and effort into. Or rather: noticed nothing, because the site has been completely inaccessible for all of this time.
On April 28th, a disgruntled forum member with delusions of being a master hacker launched a sustained DDOS attack on our site. Not satisfied with this, on May 1st, the script kiddy discovered the password of one of the moderators on our forum, and started wrecking havoc on our user database. Dealing with these kinds of jerks is the worst part of running a website, and initially I wanted to run screaming and vow never to host an online service again. I’d like my week back though. Anyhow: Thanks to everyone for being patient during this outage. 9 with an up to date 1. 9 version of Minecraft Forge installed.

Thanks to some thorough testing and quality bug reports, we’ve fixed a number of issues in this update. Apart from compatibility with Minecraft 1. 9, this update also adds some frequently requested configuration features.
Added settings to disable multishell, startup scripts, and tab completion on a per-computer basis. Today, thanks to some generous sponsors, I’m releasing the first version of the mod for Minecraft 1. 8 with an up to date 1. 8 version of Minecraft Forge installed.
Added support for the new commands in Minecraft 1. JSON text with unquoted object keys. 8 was a huge task, requiring approximately 200 manhours of work, fixing 1,736 compile errors, and completely rewriting large portions of the code. Minecraft U teaches problem solving and programming techniques in a safe, encouraging ecosystem centered around Minecraft.
They’re taking their teaching beyond the classroom by building online education for people that love Minecraft, programming, Arduino, robotics, IoT and more. In the new year, I’ll be formally announcing a new project I’ve been working on that should expand our community even further, so watch this space.
I’m currently working on an update of the mod for Minecraft 1. 8, but before I do: here’s one final update for Minecraft 1. It fixes a couple of small but annoying bugs discovered during the 1. 10 with an up to date version of Minecraft Forge installed. Even more impressive is the number of school teachers and educators who’ve taken it upon themselves to use the mod to teach programming to others. We hope this project will introduce even more players to the power and joy of programming, and help to inspire the next generation of coders. This one adds a few features people have been asking for for a while, including ubiquitous tab completion, taking the guesswork out of programming!
